metalab : I was lucky enough to catch up with Marius and Philipp from metalab in Vienna while I was visiting NYC resistor. They were there making imperial modifications to their already customised makerbot.

They were doing some very cool stuff with the makerbot systems. It was also inspiring to hear about the hacker/maker spaces in Europe, some of which have been around for 15 years!

eyebeam.org : I popped in to see eyebeam, an interesting mix of technology and art.

They have some pretty high profile real estate in the gallery district.

There were a number of working spaces and a gallery being setup for the new little bits exhibition. This will allow people to mix and match electronic modules to create interesting reactive art pieces.
